Catalog description

This field course will focus on the identification and assessment of local habitats. Students will identify, assess, and map habitats by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from local field sites. Classes will consist of lectures, field trips to observe habitats, and group activities/discussions. Students will learn to identify local ecological communities including indicator species as well as threats to these habitats. Participants should feel comfortable spending long periods outdoors in a variety of weather conditions as well as hiking through uneven terrain.
