Catalog description

This course provides a detailed overview of the methods of economic analysis using mathematical tools in calculus and in linear algebra. An introduction to linear algebra will be included in the course along with economic applications. Topics will include operations involving matrices, solving advanced constrained optimization problems in utility theory and the theory of the firm using the Kuhn-Tucker conditions, linear programming, Cramer’s rule, finding eigenvalues and eigenvectors, Leontief models, game theory, and econometrics.
