Catalog description
This course offers a comprehensive exploration of Generative AI in the context of image generation and large language models (LLM). In the case of image generation, it covers foundational models such as VAEs, GANs, and Diffusion models. Metrics to evaluate generated images are discussed. In the case of large language models (LLM), attention mechanisms and architectures such as BERT and GPT are presented. Topics are emphasized technically and from regulation and responsible AI practices. Students will engage with current research literature, gaining the context needed to critically analyze recent advancements in the field. The course includes hands-on programming exercises and project presentations, ensuring practical application of learned concepts.
