Catalog description

In this supervised practicum, students will have the chance to study with a professional photographer on the faculty of the International Center of Photography, one of the foremost professional photography schools in the United States. This class looks closely at expression, gesture, performance and narrative in self-portraiture. Through weekly assignments, students experiment with different approaches to self-portraiture, become more comfortable in front of the camera lens, and develop a visual language to express themselves through their photographic work. This course is currently taught online synchronous with students required to attend zoom sessions at the time listed in the course catalog. In addition to attending all class sessions, students are required to complete a writing project about photographic practice under the supervision of the Pace ICP Coordinator.
