Catalog description

In this supervised practicum, students will have the chance to study with a professional photographer on the faculty of the International Center of Photography, one of the foremost professional photography schools in the United States. In this course, students photograph every day, regardless of other commitments, and keep a visual diary of the experience. The practice of making photographs daily helps us to become more engaged with the feelings, ideas, and events that motivate our photography and inspire creative habits. The goal of this course is to establish the sustained commitment to photography at the heart of professional practice. Participants share pictures they make each week with the group and our online review of student work provides individual guidance, encouragement, and refinement of technique. Everyone's participation is essential to developing a meaningful exchange of ideas. This course meets by synchronous zoom session at the time listed in the course catalog. In addition to attending all class sessions, students are required to complete a writing project about photographic practice under the supervision of the Pace ICP Coordinator. Restrictions/Requirements: Courses as indicated or with permission of the ICP Coordinator
