The objective of the course is to teach theory and methodology for assessing financial reporting risk, detecting red flags of fraud and earnings management, and evaluating the financial reporting quality of clients. It will develop students' data analytics skills and enable them to utilize big data in accounting for fraud detection and risk analysis. In an increasingly data-driven world, the knowledge and skills provided by this course are essential for accountants who wish to provide effective monitoring and audit services and employ successful financial accounting practices for clients. They are also necessary for students who plan to complete their undergraduate accounting theses.
