=A study of moral, existential, and metaphysical dimensions of laws and rights, war and state sovereignty, and global politics. Classical and contemporary political philosophy addresses theories about social orders and questions about the nature of civic liberty, such as the freedom of speech and religion, from a critical perspective. This course will examine limits of individual freedoms, the nature and legitimacy of political authority, problems of white supremacy, sexism, and ableism as these challenge advocacy for inclusion, the proper expression of distributive justice, and more.
