Catalog description

=Provides a detailed examination of selected events, themes and issues in the history of western civilization between approximately 1300 BCE and 1300 CE. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, the rise and fall of classical Greece and Rome, the origins and importance of European Christianity, cross-cultural relations between the west and the Islamic world and the evolution of European government and society from the early through the high middle ages. This course may be repeated for credit provided it covers a different topic.
