Catalog description
A survey of selected topics in chemistry for life science majors. A brief introduction to the fundamental concepts, atomic structure, chemical bonding, and periodic law as applied in the life sciences and allied areas. No chemistry background is required. Three hours of lecture and three hours laboratory per week. CHEM 1004 may not be taken for credit after completion of CHEM 1014 or 1024. Prerequisite or co-requisite: MTH 1023, Math Literacy, or a higher-level mathematics course
