An introduction to the practical, performance-based study of trial advocacy. Covers theories of the case and theme, rules of evidence, witness examination, exhibits and demonstratives, public speaking and persuasion, courtroom procedures, motion practice (including motions in limine), voir dire, and closing arguments. Emphasis is placed on professional ethics, cultural humility, and access to justice. Designed for students with no prior trial experience.
