Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth study of the biological foundations essential to the practice of dental hygiene with emphasis on the structure, development and function of the oral and craniofacial tissues, including the bones of the skull and face, the teeth, periodontium, oral mucosa, salivary glands, and supporting skeletal and muscular systems. Clinical correlations are emphasized to support evidence-based decision-making and prevention strategies that apply to the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered dental hygiene care.
