An introduction to the cinema as an art form with emphasis on developing 'cinematic literacy' through examining various genres and techniques within film. Introduces essential elements of film, including camera work, sound, composition and editing. Students use a variety of basic theoretical approaches in writing and talking about the movies they see. (Arts and Humanities elective). Co-requisite: NONE
