Catalog description

Provides an orientation to several medical imaging modalities. Discusses the roles of medical imagers and the images they produce. Radiation protection of technologists, patients and others is discussed. Basic patient care skills introduced. During the laboratory sessions, the student is introduced to diagnostic medical imaging equipment, positioning and film critique. Simulated experiences are planned to provide the student opportunities to apply principles and skills learned. Note: Acceptance into a Medical Imaging Technologies Program required. Co-requisite: MTH 110
