Catalog description

This course presents an introduction and discussion of neurological conditions. Disease etiology, medical diagnosis, and pharmacology of common neurological diseases and conditions encountered in physical therapy are discussed. Associated dysfunctions, treatment implications, therapeutic interventions, documentation, and care team management for the physical therapist assistant are explained. Growth, human development, safety, restorative and compensatory techniques, and patient/caregiver education are applied through the lifespan. Laboratory sessions provide application of learned skills.
