Catalog description

This course presents physical agents and therapeutic modalities commonly used in physical therapy treatment. Physiological effects, indications, contraindications, pharmacology, safety and precautionary measures, methods of application, treatment, and documentation for each modality are discussed. Pain, integumentary, and lymphatic conditions as well as pain experiences are related to the use of physical agents and therapeutic modalities. Laboratory sessions provide application of learned skills. Co-requisite: PTA 110
