Intro to the Phys Therap Asst

Catalog description

This course presents an introduction to the profession and practice of physical therapy. The history, principles, and ethics of the profession are discussed. The roles and responsibilities of the physical therapist assistant in relation to the physical therapist are delineated. Introductory skills for safe patient care and monitoring are performed. Basic physical therapy interventions, documentation, patient and caregiver education, and treatment management concepts are performed. Laboratory sessions provide the application of learned skills.
