Catalog description

Emphasizes sonographic protocols, normal anatomy and physiology of the female pelvis and first, second and third trimester obstetrics. Discusses vascular anatomy and applications of Doppler/color imaging along with hemodynamics as it pertains to each topic. Also discusses correlation of pertinent patient history/assessment, laboratory tests, and other imaging modalities. Includes interpersonal relationships of the imaging department and patient management skills. Achieves Psychomotor objectives through laboratory practice sessions enhanced by instructor evaluations. Introduces the student to the sonography department through clinical education. Co requisites: MIT 111
