Catalog description
This course introduces the theory and applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Students will learn how to acquire, create, and manage spatial data. Students will also learn how to create effective maps as a form of visual communication using sound cartographic principles. Upon successful completion of the course, students will have a good understanding of how to use GIS to solve problems in a variety of real-world situations. Emphasis will be placed on applications to subfields of Geography and Social Sciences Co-Requisites: NONE
