Catalog description

Emphasizes the characteristics of developmental disabilities, which are present in many children with firesetting behaviors. These include mental retardation, autism and Asperger's syndrome, learning disabilities, hyperactivity, attention-deficit disorder, and behavior problems. Recognition and intervention strategies will be emphasized as they are pertinent to juvenile fire setting problems in each of the development problems. Useful to fire safety educators who deal with a wide variety of children and their parents. Open to Ohio Fire Academy students only. Co-requisite: NONE
