Haz-Mat/WMD Awareness & Ops

Catalog description

Students will be familiarized with identifying, grouping, handling, and mitigating incidents involving hazardous materials, radiological materials, and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) at the standards established in NFPA 472 and will meet all the competencies as established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA 40 CFR part 311). Note: Criminal Justice, Fire Science, Emergency Medical Management, Public Safety Communications or Emergency Management and Planning Majors only; or permission of the Criminal Justice Chair.
