Networking Fundamentals

Catalog description

The first course in Cisco networking leading to the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) designation. This course will emphasize fundamental network concepts through the use of the OSI and TCP/IP models. Each model layer will be examined as to relevant protocols and equipment. Layer topics include: Ethernet fundamentals, media types, building and testing cables, IP and MAC addressing, subnetting, end-to-end data transfer, and applications. The lab portion reinforces the concepts through hands-on activities. Co-requisite: NONE
