Catalog description
Introduces the nutrional and health needs for optimal growth and development of young children including dental health issues. Investigates dietary factors related to the nutrition during pregnancy, lacation, infancy, toddlerhood and the preschool years. Examines state and federal nutritional guidelines in relation to child-care programs. Provides the opportunity to integrate food and nutrition into the preschool curriculum. This class is open to all students. Co-requisite: HSC 250
