This course is designed to give an overview of rigid pavement construction including rigid pavement repair. The course discusses the requirements for construction of Reinforced Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (Item 451), Non-Reinforced Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (Item 452) and Portland Cement Concrete Base (Item 305) from the Construction and Materials Specifications. The construction requirements found in various ODOT Construction Drawings related to rigid pavement construction and repair are discussed. The Concrete Pavement Restoration (CPR) process is discussed. The course discussed each components of the CPR process. Emphasis is made on proper construction equipment and methods to be used during construction and repair of Portland cement concrete pavement. Inspection of both new construction and repair of rigid pavement will be discussed. Co-requisite: NONE
