Catalog description

In June of 1995 the Federal Government passed the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 637, that requires all persons performing sampling and testing, that will be included in acceptance decisions to be 'qualified' after June 29, 2000. This means that before this date, each state highway department must have an approved program in place to evaluate individuals who will perform such sampling and testing. This evaluation will include a written examination and a performance evaluation to demonstrate that the technician is capable of performing the applicable tests. This course is designed to provide the candidate technician with clear instruction in the performance of the individual test methods, including sample calculation examples where applicable, and sources of common errors in running tests. Co-requisite: NONE
