Introduces assessment of systolic and diastolic function of the heart, quantitation principles, and cardiac related measurement techniques. Present an overview of common cardiac pathologies and anatomic variants. Correlates pertinent patient history, laboratory tests, and other imaging modalities with cardiac testing. Introduces specialized cardiac imaging techniques and procedures, including ultrasound enhancing agents. Continuation of obtaining standard views and image acquisition of the transthoracic exam through laboratory experiences while enhancing psychomotor skills.
