Catalog description
Presents a broad approach to microbiology with the focus on the role of microorganisms in disease processes. Emphasizes the study of Microbial growth, metabolism, classification, genetics and interactions with man. Human microbial diseases and their control, as well as basic principles of immunology as they relate to resistance to disease are covered. Students retaking this course must repeat both the lab and lecture. This course is not recommended for students in developmental reading. Co-requisite: NONE
