Catalog description

This course will teach students to apply their skills in providing clinical social work interventions. Students will learn about the bio-psycho-social-spiritual effects of illnesses that are commonly treated at a primary care medical office. Students will use the skills learned in the SWK 5200 to assess and diagnose patients who are referred. In addition, students taught about administrative aspects of working in a primary care office and the importance of collaboration with the medical providers and office staff. While this course is focused on clinical social work practice in a medical environment, the skills developed would apply to any adult clinical practice.
