Catalog description

Evidence -based practice is a process involving the examination and application of research findings or other reliable evidence that has been integrated with scientific theories. This course introduces the student to research-based findings for the purpose of informing decisions about care delivery. Students will be prepared to identify, appraise and utilize the best current evidence combined with clinical expertise and consideration of patient preferences, experience, and values. The essentials of the research process lay the foundation of how to conduct, interpret, critique, and apply research findings into clinical practice. This course addresses relevant criteria of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing - The Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice.
