Catalog description

This pre-practicum seminar is the first of two professional seminars for students seeking Massachusetts Initial teaching licensure. The intent of this seminar is to provide time for students to reflect on their teaching experience, engage in activities that support the uncovering of personal bias, and (through fieldwork) identify and produce evidence of meeting the professional standards for teaching. The course will provide opportunities for students to discuss with their colleagues their current classroom experiences as they relate to current educational issues and pedagogy, and to prepare students for the practicum experience. Included in this course is a gateway performance task that must be passed in order to proceed to the practicum experience. Co-requisite: EDU 4203
