Examines the rationale and methods used in the application of wilderness and outdoor adventure education programs in education, recreation, corporate, and health and human service settings. Explores the historical role of wilderness in the context of the United States and differing views of what constitutes wilderness and outdoor adventure education from an international perspective. Explores the educational, social, and ethical consequences of outdoor adventure education programs and their impact on individuals, groups, and culture.
