Focuses on core principles of community engagement for physical therapy practice, research, and leadership. Explores a model of care in which physical therapists work with their community in a partnership role, a model of care that has the potential to foster relationships in which innovative solutions to community problems, including societal health, can be created. Emphasizes the principles of community engagement and community building, expanding physical therapy students’ knowledge in how to engage their community.
