Catalog description
Introduces a variety of basic skills, gear and systems that will allow students to safely participate in a single pitch rock climbing environment based on internationally recognized teaching and skills certification systems. Explores various technical skills that will serve as a foundation for future land-based outdoor disciplines. Introduces gear, such as software (ropes, webbing, harnesses) and hardware (carabiners, friction devices); skills, such as knots, belaying, rappelling, lead climbing; and systems such as anchors and basic rescue techniques.
