Explores the ways music traditions (Western classical, popular, educational/pedagogical musics) discriminated against people for their race, gender, sexuality, disability, class, or other minoritized identity to reinforce exclusionary social practices. Examines the structures and systems that maintain those exclusions. Analyzes the ways music can be use to achieve a sense of belonging and social justice. Creates approaches for students to form their own musicianship based on principles of access, belonging, and social justice.
