Introduction to fiber-reinforced composite materials and their applications. Topics include matrices and reinforcement; open and closed molding processes; filament winding, quality, testing, damage assessment; basics of factory operations and sustainability of composites. Students will complete laboratory projects using fiber-reinforced laminates.
