Explores social, cultural, political, economic, and religious institutions and forces, both within societies and across borders, continents, and oceans. Analyzes processes of cross-cultural exchange and the forces that shape and change human cultures. Traces several major themes and events that began to lay the foundations of the modern globalized world.
