Explores the evolution of urban water systems over the past 3,000 years. Provides an introduction to urban studies within the broader social sciences by examining how societies adapt to environmental challenges in urban settings. Examines international and US hydro ingenuity. Delves into current water challenges and introduces sustainable solutions for our water future. Gives special consideration to social, economic and political factors that shape urban decision making.
