Catalog description
Explores concepts of structural inequality, difference, power, and discrimination through a critical survey of arts activism. Requires critical thinking about artwork and artists which address a number of social issues in the United States, including race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexuality, immigration, and Indigeneity. Emphasizes various practicing artists and academics with a focus on counter narratives, intersectionality, fluid and multiple identities and communities while also examining many genres of art activism and readings. Includes a strong focus on Indigeneity. CROSSLISTED as ES 275 / QS 275 / WGSS 275 .
