Explores the environmental dimensions of artificial intelligence (AI), from its material footprint to its potential for sustainable innovation. Examines how AI systems depend on electricity, water, minerals, and data infrastructures, and assesses their social, economic, and ecological consequences. Investigates how AI can be used to model, mitigate, and adapt to environmental change through applications in energy management, climate forecasting, and resource optimization.
