Beginning Piano I

Catalog description

Beginning Piano I is the first course in a two-semester sequenced piano curriculum, designed for students with little to no prior piano experience. The course develops fundamental keyboard skills for Music Sound Recording majors while preparing Music majors to achieve the proficiency required for degree-oriented class piano coursework (MUS 117/118/119/120). Instruction covers fundamental keyboard techniques (scales, arpeggios, chords, and progressions), introductory repertoire, and sight-reading. Prerequisite(s): permission of department.
