Catalog description

This course includes a brief history of disabilities in our society, with definitions and discussions of various disability groupings, providers, services and interventions as well as many of the current issues that individuals with impairments and disabilities face today. It considers the impact of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 and its effect on public awareness and attitudes. Prerequisite(s): HUM 101 or DSP 145.
