Catalog description
In this course, students will develop a strong understanding of the tools and techniques used to display, process, and analyze remotely sensed data. Students will learn the theory and methods of digital image processing and will explore the principles of image statistics extraction, radiometric & geometric correction, image enhancement, thematic classification, change detection, and integration of remotely sensed imagery and geographic information systems (GIS) databases. Computer processing of digital UAV images will be a central part of the course. Students must have prior knowledge in the basics of remote sensing and GIS. Prerequisites: ENV 103 and GST 110.
