Catalog description

In this course, students will learn how to analyze and identify patterns in spatial data using geographic information systems (GIS). Students will learn how to use a variety of GIS tools and spatial analytical techniques to derive new data from existing data sources, identify and quantify spatial relationships, map quantitative variables, and develop prediction surfaces. Students will also discover how spatial analysis and geostatistics are used in a variety of industries for many different applications. Prerequisite: ENV 103 or permission of instructor.
