Catalog description

This course provides a study of the chemical and physical characteristics of hazardous materials, such as explosives, flammable and combustible liquids, oxidizing and corrosive materials, compressed gases and radioactive materials. Emphasis will be placed on storage, handling, and fire control procedures. Students must be active members of a New York State Fire Department and have OSHA medical clearance to perform duties of an interior firefighter. Prerequisite: permission of instructor; co-requisites: FPT 111 and FPT 111L.
