Catalog description

This course covers circuits with active devices and electronic amplifier circuit concepts, including voltage and current sources, gain, attenuation, I/O impedances, frequency response, multistage effects, and decibel math. Devices studied are BJT and FET transistors, LEDs and opto-isolators, thyristors, integrated op-amps, instrumentation amplifiers, 555-timers, and selected ICs. 3 lecture hours and 3 lab hours per week are required for this course. Prerequisite(s): ELT 161, Pre/Co-Requisite: ELT 142.
