Catalog description
This course analyzes the principles and practices of ethical communication, truth and deception as speech acts, and theories and techniques of verbal and nonverbal deception detection as applied to a variety of interpersonal, public, and professional contexts. We all face ethical dilemmas related to communication situations in our educational, personal, and professional lives on a daily basis. This course seeks to explore the complexity of those situations, and to help develop critical thinking and analytical skills through a communication perspective.
