This course explores the molecular and cellular basis of life. Topics covered include the biochemical make-up of cells, membrane transport, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, protein synthesis, cellular division, inheritance, and evolution. Plant structure and reproduction are also introduced. This course is intended for Math/Science majors and is the prerequisite for BIO 152. Successful completion of both high school biology and chemistry is strongly recommended. Prerequisite: placement into college level MAT.
