Catalog description
This course prepares teacher candidates to plan and deliver instruction that responds to the diverse needs of students with disabilities. Candidates design instructional opportunities by adapting general education curriculum, integrating knowledge of students, communities, and curriculum goals. Emphasis is placed on addressing academic and functional needs. Candidates develop and implement lesson plans aligned to student goals, adapt materials, and incorporate technology to make content meaningful and accessible. Satisfactory completion of field experience is required concurrently in EDUC 175, EDUC 275, or EDUC 375. Admission to the Teacher Education Program and completion of SPED 201 are required.
