Catalog description

This course focuses on the role of the nurse in preserving and promoting health in diverse global communities. Students will discuss health promotion, health protection, health prevention, and health maintenance that adversely affect human populations. The health care access of various target populations will be assessed and evaluated as it relates to sociopolitical factors. Learners wil be able to recognize the necessity of culturally appropriate nursing care and how to incorporate the role and function of the family across the life span.
