Catalog description
Private applied instruction for Music majors/minors with an emphasis in voice, focusing on contemporary commercial musical techniques and literature; one 30-minute lesson per week and a weekly one-hour studio class. Content and repertoire will be determined by the applied instructor as appropriate to the ability level of the student. Lessons will include basic diction instruction. Students will perform on one student recital per semester per 2 hours of enrollment and complete a performance jury at the end of each semester, including memorized selections and sight-singing representing a progression of technique and repertoire at a more advanced level than MUVO 115.Prerequisite: four semesters of MUVO 115 and successful completion of MUAP 225. Placement by the Music Office.
