VOICE (MJR/MNR)

Catalog description

Private applied instruction for Music majors/minors with an emphasis in classical voice techniques and literature; one 30-minute lesson per week and a weekly one-hour studio class. Content and repertoire will be determined by the applied instructor as appropriate to the ability level of the student. Lessons will include instruction in IPA and standard diction. Students will perform on one student recital per semester per 2 hours of enrollment and complete a performance jury at the end of each semester, including memorized selections and sight-singing representing a progression of technique and repertoire at a more advanced level than MUVO 111. Prerequisite: four semesters of MUVO 111 and successful completion of MUAP 225. Placement by the Music Office.
